I believe:
As a Christian I believe there is a special place for horses in God's heart. In times of stress or difficulty we turn to our horse as a friend and confident. God has also been there for me. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea: though its waters roar and be troubled. though the mountains shake with its swelling." Psalm 46 1- 3 |
About Jane Armour
The most important training I received has come from the horses themselves. Horses are as Alois Podhajsky, a Former Director of the Spanish Riding School, says our teachers. Each horse is an individual and as such it takes time to build that unique oneness that creates a successful bond. After training with a former student of the Spanish Riding School in England, I ran my own breeding and training facility in Scotland before re-locating in the West of Ireland to develop the stud side of the business. During these years I bred and trained Irish Sport Horses using an Irish Draft stallion and a variety of Thoroughbred and Half-bred mares. I competed successfully in Scotland, England and Ireland in dressage, eventing and show hunter classes with numerous horses. Wins included hunter classes at county level shows throughout Scotland, England and Ireland including the Royal Highland Show, Scotland and light-weight hunter championship at Balmoral, Northern Ireland. In 1997 I came to the US on an extraordinary ability visa as a trainer of trainers as the Chief Instructor at Millbrook Equestrian Center, New York. During the five years I was in New York I traveled to various commercial barns pony clubs and colleges teaching and assessing both trainers and riders of all levels in both dressage and jumping. In 2002 I came to California to work on developing educational materials. I travel extensively in the States and to Ireland and Scotland to work with clients old and new.
For the last twenty-five years I have had fun with my own home-bred horse Woodstock. He traveled with me from Scotland to Ireland then to New York and finally to California. He was sought after by many competition riders included the Belgium team - but has never been for sale. He has been my friend and confidant for over twenty-five years.
